Qo’qon shahar Xalq ta’limi muassasalari faoliyatini metodik ta’minlash va tashkil etish bo’limi tasarrufidagi 42-umumiy o’rta ta’lim maktabi 8 oktabr 2001 yili tashkil topgan. Maktabining ochilishiga XTB xodimlari lentani kesishmoqdalar
Avval maktab eski bog’cha o’rnida tashkil etilgan. Keyinchalik 2007-2008 yillari kapital ta’mirga tushib hozirgi holiga kelgan.

Maktab 540 o’rinli, moslashtirilgan bo’lib, hozirda 720dan o’rtiq o’quvchilar taxsil olishmoqda. Darslar o’zbek tilida olib boriladi. Maktabda 40dan ortiq pedagog xodimlar va 20dan ortiq ishchi va texxodimlar xizmat qilishmoqda.
